Softball Recap: Nimitz Wins Going Away Against Berkner

Nimitz won the last time they faced Berkner and things went their way on Saturday too. The Vikings blew past the Rams 18-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Victoria Edwards was a standout: she scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Dani Maloney, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Nimitz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Nimitz's record is now 5-12. As for Berkner, they dropped their record down to 4-19 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Nimitz will challenge Pearce at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berkner, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Irving at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
