Basketball Recap: Mounds Golden Eagles vs. Summit Christian Academy Eagles
The Mounds Golden Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. They were beaten by Summit Christian Academy 54-26. Mounds has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Valeria Hill was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Summit Christian Academy. Trinity Garnatz was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Mounds dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.4 points per game. As for Summit Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
Mounds will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Summit Christian Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Haymakers at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Haskell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Eagles are ranked 121st).
