Basketball Recap: Harris County Takes a Loss

Harris County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a blow against the Callaway Cavaliers, falling 76-49. The Tigers lost against the Cavaliers in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 50-45 score last time.

Callaway's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryceton Sanders, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points and six boards. Sanders is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Kaiden James was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

Harris County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Callaway, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-14.

Harris County and Callaway could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Harris County will face off against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 441 places (494 vs. 53). Meanwhile, Callaway (ranked 387th) will meet Morgan County (ranked 151st) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
