Football Recap: Riverview Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Shorecrest Prep + How To Watch

Riverview Academy had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Shorecrest Prep Chargers and fell 40-13. The Barracudas were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

Shorecrest Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damir Hooker led the charge by rushing for 113 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, while also picking up 32 receiving yards. Hooker's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Ryan Worman was another key player, rushing for 63 yards and one score.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverview Academy will face off against The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shorecrest Prep, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bell Creek Academy at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
