Softball Recap: Woodlawn Takes a Loss

Woodlawn managed to slip by Mt. Vernon the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cardinals lost 20-0 to the Rams on Tuesday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Woodlawn has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Mt. Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Coming up, Woodlawn will venture away from home to challenge Hamilton County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will host Belleville East at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.1, the Lancers 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
