Baseball Game Preview: Palmyra Panthers vs. Mastery Warrior

Palmyra has won three straight games at home, while Mastery has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Panthers will welcome the Warrior at 3:45 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Palmyra's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Camden. The match marked Palmyra's most dominant victory of the season.

Ian Smith and Nate Bachich made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Smith pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Bachich struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Smith went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one double, while Bachich went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Smith a new career-high.

In other batting news, Palmyra got a massive performance out of Steven Peltz, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Palmyra is 2-1 when Peltz posts three or more hits, but 3-6 otherwise. Noah Vaughan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Palmyra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Mastery made easy work of LEAP Academy last Wednesday and carried off a 26-14 win.

Palmyra's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Mastery, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
