Baseball Recap: Cooter Comes Up Short

If Cooter was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Delta on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Notre Dame Bulldogs on Friday, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Jayden Mathis made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Hunter Sams also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Cooter's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Notre Dame, they moved to 19-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Cooter will head out on the road to face off against Kelly at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Notre Dame, they will square off against Bernie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
