Softball Game Preview: Sparta Spartans vs. Tomah Timberwolves

Sparta is 0-10 against Tomah since May of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. Sparta has given up an average of 11.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sparta is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Luther. Even if the Spartans couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Tomah strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Vel Phillips Memorial.

Sparta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Tomah, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0.
