Basketball Recap: Colorado Academy Takes a Loss

Colorado Academy lost against Kent Denver back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Colorado Academy Mustangs took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kent Denver Sun Devils. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Colorado Academy still got an impressive performance from Hannah Smith, who went 7-for-17 en route to 17 points along with eight boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Anna Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Among those leading the charge was Caroline Phillips, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 17 points and three steals. Austin Duncan was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 20 boards.

Colorado Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Kent Denver, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Colorado Academy has already played their next game, a 53-23 win against Eagle Ridge Academy on the 27th. Kent Denver will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against The Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on March 7th.
