Baseball Recap: Magee Wins Going Away Against Hazlehurst

While Magee put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Hazlehurst. Magee blew past Hazlehurst 12-0. Considering the Trojans have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jeremiah Cole was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Cole was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kendal Middleton and Sawyer Chafin did most of the damage at the plate: Middleton scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Chafin scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those three hits gave Middleton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Craft, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Magee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Magee is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. Hazlehurst's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-1.

Looking ahead, Magee will square off against Pisgah at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hazlehurst has already played their next contest (against Port Gibson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
