Basketball Recap: Cannon Falls Victorious

Cannon Falls lost to Zumbrota-Mazeppa on January 3rd, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Cannon Falls Bombers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars 57-54.

Cannon Falls' victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Zumbrota-Mazeppa, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cannon Falls will take on Goodhue at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Goodhue knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Cannon Falls likes a good challenge. As for Zumbrota-Mazeppa, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars take on the Stewartville Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Stewartville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Zumbrota-Mazeppa likes a good challenge.
