Baseball Recap: Open Door Christian Takes a Loss

Open Door Christian extended their losing streak to eight on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-12 in the process. They lost 17-9 to the Fairview Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Saturday.

Evan Reed was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Fairview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 9 runs.

On Fairview's side, Cooper Thomas looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Thomas a new career-high.

At the plate, Will Dachtler was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Open Door Christian has already played their next match, a 12-2 defeat against Oberlin on the 12th. As for Fairview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-5 win against Trinity on the 12th.
