Football Game Preview: Weir Red Riders vs. Harrison Central Huskies

The Weir Red Riders are taking a road trip to square off against the Harrison Central Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weir has now lost 12 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 29.

Weir is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Indian Creek two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Red Riders came up short against the Redskins, falling 46-22. The Red Riders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harrison Central). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-8 victory over North. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Huskies considering their three-point performance the game before.

Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Harrison Central, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Weir suffered a grim 42-18 defeat to Harrison Central in their previous meeting back in September of 2015. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Red Riders were down 28-6.
