Softball Recap: Vashon Island Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Vashon Island's offense. They came up short against the North Mason Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 19-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 on Saturday.

Vashon Island saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie McLaughlin, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Vashon Island's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for North Mason, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vashon Island will challenge Seattle Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Mason, they will square off against Bainbridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.25 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
