Basketball Game Preview: Davis Pirates vs. Eastmont Wildcats

The Davis Pirates will challenge the Eastmont Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Davis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

Davis will head into Saturday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 33) and two weeks ago they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Stevens, sneaking past 68-66. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Vikings are ranked 145th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Eastmont scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to Moses Lake 82-77. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (76), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Eastmont's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Davis, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Davis took their victory against Eastmont when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 83-58. Does Davis have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eastmont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
