Basketball Recap: Octavio Orozco Key Part of a Team Effort in Flashes Win

Fillmore won the last time they faced Hueneme and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Fillmore Flashes strolled past the Hueneme Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 62-46.

Fillmore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Octavio Orozco out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. What's more, Orozco also racked up four blocks, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Brendon Palushaj, who posted 14 points.

Fillmore is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Hueneme, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Fillmore will face off against Channel Islands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Channel Islands' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games. As for Hueneme, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Foothill Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
