Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Tyler

Marshall is 0-5 against Tyler since December of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Mavericks will take on the Lions at 12:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Marshall is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Nacogdoches on Friday. The Mavericks fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Tyler challenged Mt. Pleasant on Friday. The Lions lost 4-0 to the Tigers. Tyler have struggled against Mt. Pleasant recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Tyler's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1.

Marshall couldn't quite get it done against Tyler in their previous matchup back in January of 2025 as they fell 3-1. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
