Volleyball Recap: La Vega Comes Up Short

La Vega lost against Gatesville back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates came up short against the Hornets, falling 3-0. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Gatesville scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-21.

When it comes to explaining why La Vega lost, don't look at Aryana Perez. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs. Perez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

La Vega's record now sits at 18-9. As for Gatesville, their win bumped their record up to 26-8.

Coming up, La Vega will square off against Lorena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Leopards will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gatesville, they will face off against Connally at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
