Football Recap: Terron Williams Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Russellville + How To Watch

Athens won the last time they faced Russellville and things went their way on Friday too. The Golden Eagles strolled past the Golden Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 28-12. The Golden Eagles pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Golden Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Athens' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terron Williams, who rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 41 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Aidan Lovell, who rushed for 19 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Athens was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 325 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Athens didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ethan Lawniczak and Clarence Jones. Jones has become a key player for Athens: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one interception, but 3-4 otherwise.

Athens' record is now 6-4. As for Russellville, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-4.
