Preview: Bonnabel Bruins vs. South Lafourche Tarpons
The Bonnabel Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the South Lafourche Tarpons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Tuesday, Bonnabel was beaten by Carver Collegiate Academy 40-9. Bonnabel has struggled against Carver Collegiate Academy recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Bonnabel's defeat came about despite a quality game from La?Nyah Laneair, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, South Lafourche's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Plaquemine 45-40. While losing is never fun, South Lafourche can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Plaquemine is ranked 44th).
Bonnabel has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for South Lafourche, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Bonnabel was taken down by South Lafourche 62-32 when the teams last played back in January. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bonnabel was down 40-16.
