Recap: Clarkrange Buffaloes vs. Van Buren County Eagles
The Clarkrange Buffaloes fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Van Buren County Eagles on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Eagles 76-70. Clarkrange has not had much luck with Van Buren County recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Clarkrange lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kristopher Beaty, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Bryton Swallows was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds.
Clarkrange's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Van Buren County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarkrange will be home for the holidays to greet Cumberland County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Cumberland County is ranked 304th, while Clarkrange is ranked 296th). As for Van Buren County, they will play host again and welcome White County, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. White County is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
