Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Sets Scoring Season-High Against Horeb Christian

Cristo Rey scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They lost to the Horeb Christian Mustangs on the road by a 80-63 margin. The Monarchs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Horeb Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ifeanyi Ezeala, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ezeala is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Anthony Roman was another key player, going 8 of 19 en route to 24 points.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Horeb Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

Cristo Rey will square off against Somerset Academy Central Miramar at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Somerset Academy Central Miramar will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Cristo Rey surely won't give up without a fight. As for Horeb Christian, they will challenge Hebrew Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
