Lake Cormorant came tearing into Saturday's contest with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lewisburg Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Sofia Gonzalez paced Lake Cormorant's offense, picking up 11 kills. Gonzalez got some help from Payton Davis and her 12 assists. Gonzalez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Lake Cormorant's victory bumped their record up to 28-8. As for Lewisburg, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 22-9 record.

Looking ahead, Lake Cormorant will head out on the road to square off against Olive Branch at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lewisburg, they will take on Northpoint Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
