Softball Recap: New Castle Takes a Loss

New Castle lost against Yorktown back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Trojans came up short against the Tigers, falling 13-3.

Kattie Mathews was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

New Castle's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Yorktown, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

New Castle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 defeat against Pendleton Heights on the 20th. As for Yorktown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-2 victory against Northeastern on the 19th.
