Basketball Recap: Kelsey Troxell Key Part of a Team Effort in Cougars Win

Catoctin won the last time they faced Clear Spring and things went their way on Thursday too. The Catoctin Cougars blew past the Clear Spring Blazers 60-40. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Catoctin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kelsey Troxell led the charge by putting up nine points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Hoyt, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Catoctin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Catoctin's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-5. As for Clear Spring, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Catoctin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-41 victory against Walkersville on the 24th. As for Clear Spring, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-48 win against Brunswick on the 24th.
