Baseball Recap: Bryan Station Find Success

Bryan Station hadn't done well against Frederick Douglass recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Defenders won by a run and slipped past the Broncos 2-1. This was payback for the Defenders, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Samuel Wilkerson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has become a key player for Bryan Station: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Bryan Station saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Carter, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The victory got Bryan Station back to even at 4-4. As for Frederick Douglass, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Bryan Station will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Broncos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
