Basketball Recap: Deriyah Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Humble Christian over Lifegate Christian

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Humble Christian can now relate to. They fell to the Lifegate Christian Falcons 49-43. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost five in a row.

Humble Christian lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Deriyah Williams, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. What's more, she also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ivy Miller, who posted 11 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Humble Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Lifegate Christian, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.
