Basketball Game Preview: Creekside Christian Academy Cougars vs. Lovejoy Wildcats

The Creekside Christian Academy Cougars and the Lovejoy Wildcats will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Creekside Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Creekside Christian Academy faced off against Greene County on Friday. Creekside Christian Academy blew past Greene County 65-20. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Creekside Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trinity Grant, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Grant is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Ware, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals.

Creekside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Lovejoy took a blow against Monroe on Friday, falling 79-47. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Golden Tornadoes are ranked 69th).

Creekside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Lovejoy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
