Basketball Game Preview: El Dorado Cougars vs. Galt Warriors

El Dorado is 10-0 against Galt since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The El Dorado Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Galt Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

El Dorado took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 32-19 victory over Rosemont.

El Dorado relied on the efforts of Addisyn Bare, who posted four points in addition to nine boards and three steals, and Blake Diegle, who had five points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Diegle a new career-high in rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Galt). They blew past Bradshaw Christian 40-15 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

El Dorado better focus on containing Emily Pena and Skyler Moore as the pair were huge in Galt's win. Pena went 5 of 11 on her way to 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Moore went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Antanella Feilbach, who posted five points and nine rebounds.

Galt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

El Dorado's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. As for Galt, their win ended a 14-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-12.

Everything came up roses for El Dorado against Galt in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 60-20 victory. In that game, El Dorado amassed a halftime lead of 32-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
