Basketball Game Preview: Pendleton Bulldogs vs. Union County Yellowjackets

The Pendleton Bulldogs will square off against the Union County Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pendleton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Pendleton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-49 to Crescent. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Malachi Woodruff, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 15 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. Samuel Ross was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Pendleton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crescent only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Union County escaped with a win on Thursday against Greer Middle College by the margin of a single free throw, 52-51.

Pendleton better keep an eye on Eric Gray. He was instrumental in Union County's win, going 9-for-13 en route to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamison Parks, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points.

Union County's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Pendleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
