Soccer Game Preview: Father McGivney Catholic vs. Edwardsville

The Father McGivney Catholic Griffins will challenge the Edwardsville Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Father McGivney Catholic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Father McGivney Catholic proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by four) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Waterloo get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Give Father McGivney Catholic's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Natalie Beck, who's now up to 19 this season.

Meanwhile, Edwardsville faced Glenwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Tigers and the Titans finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw. The result kept Edwardsville happy, as they haven't lost a game since March 27th.

Edwardsville's draw gives them a new season record of 7-2-3. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
