Basketball Game Preview: Slidell Greyhounds vs. Muenster Hornets

The Slidell Greyhounds will head out on the road to square off against the Muenster Hornets at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Slidell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.

In Saturday's Canine Competition, Slidell prevailed. They blew past Tioga 66-32 on Saturday. The Greyhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Muenster had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They took down the Hornets 35-18.

Muenster found their leader in sophomore Jeremiah Franklin, who posted nine points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Casen Carney, who had five points and three steals.

Muenster pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Slidell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Everything went Slidell's way against Muenster in their previous meeting back in December of 2020, as Slidell made off with a 59-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Slidell since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
