The Lehighton Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Jim Thorpe Olympians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lehighton will be strutting in after a win while Jim Thorpe will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, Lehighton strolled past Panther Valley with points to spare, taking the game 68-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lehighton.
Meanwhile, Jim Thorpe's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 69-53 bruising from Panther Valley. That's two games in a row now that Jim Thorpe has lost by exactly 16 points.
Lehighton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Jim Thorpe, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-15.
Lehighton took their win against Jim Thorpe in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 58-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lehighton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
