Volleyball Recap: Cedar Creek Eagles vs. McCallum Knights
Cedar Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the McCallum Knights. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-16.
McCallum's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaniya Thorton, who had 18 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Thorton has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Davis, who had five digs and two aces.
Cedar Creek's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for McCallum, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-9.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cedar Creek will challenge rival Crockett at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, McCallum is set to take on their familiar foe Richards School for Young Women Leaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
