Edison had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 7-17 to make it four. They lost 12-2 to the Madera Coyotes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 back in April.

Edison saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Reyes, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Madera, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-9. Considering they have won 11 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Madera's side, Isabella Aguirre got the start for Madera and what a start it was: she struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Savana Cortez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Malea Ricks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Edison will face off against Bullard at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Madera does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
