Mountain Brook is a perfect 4-0 against Parker since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mountain Brook Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Parker Thundering Herd at 3:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mountain Brook took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Woodlawn a 10-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Parker waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 16-3 margin over the Dragons.

Conellrious Scott made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Parker is 6-3 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Scott was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Ashton Finley was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Adrian Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Parker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Mountain Brook has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. Parker's record now sits at 10-8.

Mountain Brook took their victory against Parker in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain Brook since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
