Recap: Macksville Mustangs vs. Ness City Eagles
On Friday, the Macksville Mustangs's game was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 40-32 victory over Ness City. This was payback for Macksville, who suffered a 51-43 loss the last time these two teams met.
Among those leading the charge was Kambry Adams, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Logan Sanders was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Ness City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashlyn Tillitson. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Danae Rodriguez, who scored six points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Ness City were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Macksville only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Macksville's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Ness City, they bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season.
Macksville will take on Spearville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ness City, they will square off against Hoxie at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hoxie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ness City in Kansas (Hoxie is ranked first, while Ness City is ranked 134th).
