Basketball Preview: Soulsville Revolution vs. University Tigers

The Soulsville Revolution and the University Tigers will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Soulsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.2 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Soulsville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-52 to Middle College. The Revolution haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from JAKEEL TRUSS, who posted 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. NICHOLAS WILLIAMS JR was another key player, putting up 12 points along with four steals and four blocks.

Meanwhile, University was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past Compass - Midtown 63-29. With the Tigers ahead 40-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.

University found their leader in sophomore LaTrevius Gant, who put up 15 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for Gant. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Serino, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points along with six boards and six steals.

The victory got University back to even at 4-4. As for Soulsville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
