Baseball Recap: Person Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Person proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 18) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Williams Bulldogs 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rockets have posted against the Bulldogs since April 26, 2022.

Person saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Dodson, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Dodson a new career-high. Another was Brady Holmes, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Person has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Williams, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Person by a score of 4-3 on Friday.
