Basketball Game Preview: Fair Grove Eagles vs. Spokane Owls

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Fair Grove Eagles face off against the Spokane Owls at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday... Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Saturday, Fair Grove ended up a good deal behind Mountain Home and lost 63-46. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Spokane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Forsyth.

Spokane's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Fair Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Fair Grove strolled past Spokane when the teams last played back in December of 2017 by a score of 72-55. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Spokane's Jack Rigdon, who went 12 of 22 on his way to 30 points. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for Fair Grove to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
