Softball Recap: Greensburg Salem Drops Season-High Score on Southmoreland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greensburg Salem). They were the clear victors by a 21-5 margin over the Southmoreland Scotties on Thursday. The Golden Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Patty Redinger was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marley Perrone, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Greensburg Salem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Greensburg Salem is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Southmoreland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

As of now, neither Greensburg Salem nor the Scotties have any future games scheduled.
