Softball Recap: Miramonte Find Success

After losing to Head-Royce the last time they met, Miramonte decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Miramonte Matadors came out on top against the Head-Royce Jayhawks by a score of 5-1 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Matadors.

Abby Warren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 18 Ks. Those 18 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Miramonte's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Daoust, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another was Julia Quinn-Ferguson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Miramonte back to even at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miramonte will square off against De Anza at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Head-Royce, they will take on Lick-Wilmerding at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
