Volleyball Recap: Porter Cowboys vs. Harlingen South Hawks
Porter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Harlingen South Hawks, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
Porter was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 25-14.
Kimberly Garica paced Porter's offense, picking up 11 kills. Garica got some help from Suri Rojas and her 21 assists. Sky Mora controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Porter's loss dropped their record down to 13-22. As for Harlingen South, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-19.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Porter will square off against rival Edcouch-Elsa at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Harlingen South is set to take on their familiar foe Donna North at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
