Softball Recap: Royal Comes Up Short

Royal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 26-8 to the Almeta Crawford Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.

Abygail Robinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Melina Mendonca, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Royal's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for Almeta Crawford, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Royal will challenge rival Sealy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Almeta Crawford is set to face off against their familiar foe Stafford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
