Recap: Asheboro Blue Comets vs. Ashe County Huskies
The Asheboro Blue Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Ashe County, falling 59-29.
When it comes to explaining why Asheboro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sion Murrain. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Murrain's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ellen Long, who scored 4 points along with 3 blocks.
Asheboro's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ashe County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Asheboro will face off against Randleman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Randleman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday. As for Ashe County, they will head out on the road to face off against North Surry at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
