Softball Recap: Anthem Prep Wins Going Away Against Hayden

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage Academy, Anthem Prep was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Hayden Lobos with a sharp 15-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Bailey McCabe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. McCabe was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs.

In other batting news, Anthem Prep got a massive performance out of Grace Stillwell, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Addison Evjen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Anthem Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Hayden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Anthem Prep will challenge Bagdad at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anthem Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.2 runs per game this season. As for Hayden, they will welcome San Manuel at 4:00 p.m. on March 28th.
