Softball Recap: Southern/Diller-Odell vs. Syracuse Rockets
Southern/Diller-Odell was the 12-0 winner over Syracuse when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Southern/Diller-Odell took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Syracuse Rockets on Monday. Southern/Diller-Odell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mya Frase made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2023. Another player making a difference was Reece Barnard, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Southern/Diller-Odell's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Syracuse, their record is now 4-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern/Diller-Odell is on the road again on Thursday to play Auburn at 6:00 p.m. As for Syracuse, they will challenge Douglas County West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas County West will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Syracuse surely won't give up without a fight.
