Soccer Recap: Stafford Takes a Loss

Stafford's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Needville Bluejays by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 4-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Arely Ya?ez, who's now up to 15 this season.

Stafford's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Needville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Stafford has already played their next game, a 6-1 loss against Columbia on the 8th. As for Needville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Brazosport on the 8th.
