The Mountain View Christian Saints will be playing at home against the Sandy Valley Sidewinders at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mountain View Christian can finally bid farewell to their 19-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game back in December of 2023. They came out on top against Liberty Baptist Academy by a score of 43-35. The win was just what Mountain View Christian needed coming off of a 61-33 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Sandy Valley greeted the New Year with with a 56-41 victory over Indian Springs. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sandy Valley.
Sandy Valley had a senior duo take command as Tage Colon scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Damion Turner scored 15 points along with five blocks. The game was Colon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Persaud, who scored eight points.
Mountain View Christian's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1. As for Sandy Valley, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
Mountain View Christian took a serious blow against Sandy Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 63-20. Thankfully for Mountain View Christian, Zjahmir Washington (who scored 14 points along with six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
