Sun Prairie East owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. Everything went their way against the Verona Wildcats as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Allison Giese's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ella Ireland was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten matches.

The win made it two in a row for Sun Prairie East and bumps their season record up to 15-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Verona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.

Coming up, Sun Prairie East will host Sun Prairie West at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Verona, they will head out on the road to face off against Janesville Craig at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
